I currently work at Speciale Invest, a Pre-Seed/Seed venture capital firm in India, where we focus on identifying and supporting deep tech startups who solves harder problems in science and technology.
I’m a researcher turned to VC, and it has been an interesting journey. To make it short, I was doing research at IISc and got the itch to start something of my own. I started my healthcare startup on Femtech, which I couldn’t scale and that led me to lead operations of a Singapore-based biotech startup called TeOra in India, and with all of these things and a bit of serendipity and luck I reached Speciale.
Outside of work, I am an avid reader with a keen interest in philosophy and science, having an acumen for art, poems, and essays reflecting my perspectives on life and intellectual growth (You can check out some of those below) . Fitness is also an essential part of my daily routine, with a focus on swimming, cycling, and running. I enjoy exploring new dimensions of physical and mental discipline through activities like yoga, boxing, and weightlifting. Well I know that’s a lot, I get bored very easily so when I get bored of one I go and start learning something new. Currently in pursuit to do a triathlon, wish me luck, haha 🙃
I hold a BSMS degree in Biological Sciences from IISER Kolkata and have experience as a JRF at IISc, which has deeply influenced my passion for science and technology. My intellectual curiosity extends into diverse areas such as AI, space, and neuroscience, constantly pushing me to explore new ideas and trends.
